PostSubject: Understanding the gameplay   Mon Mar 21, 2011 6:45 pm

Hi, I'm still reading through the wikispace and filling out my citizen form. The game reminds me of playing Shadowrun and Cyberpunk back in the 90s, and that was good fun back in the day.

But I need to understand some things about how the game is played before I continue and give it serious play.

I've played in several IRC based games, some more structured than others, some that withstood the test of time, some that didn't.

Forgive me if this question is answered in the wiki ...

Is roleplay always under the supervision of a GM? If freeform roleplay is allowed, how are the consequences of actions handled without a GM present?

Freeform is allowed. But I ask that it still be based on your character's stats. There's no god modding, but you are free to do what you want. If a GM is in the room, he may take over playing the NPC's for you.

Example, you decide to kill somebody. Expect the cops to come after you.

One way that I enjoy playing, so that I as a player don't seem too powerful. I'll go into the dueling channel to use the dicebot and roll for events that I freeform in the main channel.

The only thing you can't do in freeform is kill another player without their permission or cause a great deal of change to the storyline without the permission of the GM ..

Example, blowing up half the city.

That a large amount of freedom in play without a GM. It could be fun actually, I've never tried it.

Well.. Freeform is a time for players to explore their own personal storylines. And those players can turn around and run Player Quests and earn exp for that as well.

yeah I've had that problem before ... some colors can't be edited unless you edit the actual PHP files that run the forum. Pain in the ass
